I would like to introduce everyone to a very special lady. Her name is Lian Pham, she was a widow who came to Canada from Vietnam with a young son. With no Canadian job experience that would cover the living expenses Lian chose indoor escorting as a means to support herself. She was such a sweet women who enjoyed making other people happy. She was also my collegue and friend.
On October 13th, 2003 Lian Pham was found strangled in her bath tub at her 'working apartment'. It is suspected that the killer was a client of hers. But we'll never know, not for sure because the police have since closed her filed, not even bothering to search for her killer.

'May you one day get justice'
Like most people who regard prostitutes as " a useless member of the society. A total waste." The law didn't bring justice to this woman, or her son, seems the crime of prostitution out weighs that of murder. Whether or not prostution is moral or not is not the point, ALL peoples lives are important, and we shouldn't be picking and choosing which citizens we deem 'expendable' and deny them and their families justice just because we find her choice in occupation 'disgusting' or 'being subservent to men'. Her son didn't even go to his moms own mommorial because he felt that people would judge him, look down on him, he felt ashamed. I showed up, (unfortunatly the media was there, I could understand why he didn't show up), and I will forever remember. She wasn't trash to me. I wish the day will come when she and other women, we'ren't regarded as just a waste in society, for what kind of world do we live in if we allow men to continue to get away with the brutal murder of so many women, just because she has had sex for cash? It's sexist and i'm utterly disgusted that this man is able to get away with this crime and that so many other men have gotten away with this crime, (Hell, even Rob Pickton was allowed to kill 69 women before the authorities finally got off their ass and charged him!). This killing of 'fallen women' is enough, currently in Canada, over 1000 prositutes (mostly aboriginal), have been murdered in the last decade (I was quite shocked by this number myself until my friend at an Aboriginal legal service who specialises in prostitution confirmed it for me), and it's time we stop the tolerance of killing women we don't deem acceptence. This society makes me sick. I'm outta here!
This was the first thing I read on this blog that caught my attention and made me have to comment. It is very sad.
