One of my favorite shows to watch as a child was Pee Wee’s Playhouse. The show is perhaps Phil Hartman (who played Captain Carl) and Laurence Fishburne’s (who played Cowboy Curtis) best work. Every Saturday morning I’d rush to the TV set and switch it on, staring intensely at the television screen as this grown man of questionable sexuality lived the life of every child’s (and stoners) dream. There was so much I loved about Pee Wee and that dream house of his like his fridge that always had claymation food that would perform some kind of trick, and his talking chair named Chairy. I remember as a child I would make it my mission to trick my sister into saying the "secret word" so that I could "Scream Real Loud!"
He also inspired some of the most annoying quotes including "That's my name, don't wear it out!", "I know you are but what am I?", “Why don't you take a picture? It'll last longer!" and "Then why don't you marry it?"
I still have nightmares where I relive that Saturday morning in 1989 when Pee Wee's Playhouse didn't come on after being cancelled by CBS over Paul Reuben (who played Pee Wee) got arrested for whacking off in a porn theatre (as if that’s unheard of).
